This is a superb book on America's Greatest Architect. As an Architect and Owner of a Frank Lloyd Wright house, I am very knowledgeable of FLW and I purchase every serious book published one FLW and his work. This wonderful book is loaded with superb photographs, superb drawings, many of which that have never been published before. Brooks Pfeiffer is a former Taliesin Apprentice and has had key responsibility for the operation of Talesin West. He has access to full depth of the FLW Archives and is incredibly knowledgeable of them. His other books on FLW are also well written and incredibly insightful. As an Architect living in a wonderful 1901 FLW House, I highly recommend this book.

Beautiful book, although the buyer should be aware that this is more apt for ARCHITECTS and engineers, and not mere fans of the aesthetic. I ended up giving it to my dad, who -being an architect- enjoyed it more than I could. Not an art/coffee table book, but rather, an academic/technical piece.

IMO, It's a bit misleading to title this book "Frank Lloyd Wright" Drawings. The original sketches certainly are, but the client-presentation drawings, the most impressive realization of the projected structure's appearance, are usually the work of associates/draftsmen, fleshing out Wright's concepts. Common practice at most firms, no doubt, & in artist's studios at least as far back as the Renaissance. More important, while there are some very fine examples of the draftsmen's art in the book, unfortunately many, in particular the reproductions of the Wright's sketches, are often too small, or smudged & blurred, to make out much without a magnifying glass.

We saw this exhibit in person and didn't buy the book at the museum. This book really represents the exhibit and I'm so glad we have the book to cherish the memories of the exhibit. Both architect enthusiasts and non would enjoy!

Very nice book. Lots of information and great pictures. Quite comprehensive a must for the person interested in the man and his work.

9" x 8.5". English. Mainly Wright's drawings. Each drawing is accompanied by the name of the project, location, year, the size of the actual drawing, what it was drawn in and some mention where FLW signed it. There's 1 to 3 drawings per page. It's great for this used price. Otherwise I would really enjoy it being just as big as possible mainly because the dimensions of the original works were from 8" x 10" to 36" x 75" and 96" x 24". It is common when his drawings are published that they are printed too light. The good news in this book is that it appears they made an effort to not let any drawings be so light they are difficult to decipher. With a 2 page introduction by Alberto Izzo and Camillo Gubitosi, an 18 page The Architectural Innovations of FLW by Marcello Angrisani, a real nice listing of 9 1/2 pages of projects both completed and those never done a 4 1/2 page bibliography and 2 pages of books by FLW. Very nice.

Anyone who appreciates the designs of Wright, integrating simple materials with their environment, may be amazed to discover that Wright's integrity of design was rooted in profound philosophies that are not only modern, but timeless. Pfeiffer's compilation is easy reading, not only lifting appreciation of Wright to much higher levels but also offering a ladder for personal climbing to higher levels of integrity.

I'm in awe of the beautiful pictures and patterns!

As a crafter, I am excited to use the motifs included in this book. I can see many opportunities to use whole or partial sections of the designs. It was interesting to see how the knots are formed.

Great, well-done book, well-known author. Delves into the interesting history of the Celtic knot along with easy to follow instructions for the many colorful patterns shown. Have always been curious about how I could incorporate the knots into my gourd art. Artists and crafters would benefit from reading this book. New techniques. Will definitely use the patterns. Happy to have in my collection of art books.

This text has color plates which detail the intricate workmanship of all things Celtic. A how-to on how to make projects and a must read for the novice. New styles are shown and this is a book to have in one's private library for reference.

The book "Forgotten Continent: The Battle for Latin... by Michael Reid provides tremendous historical insight that still is valuable today in Americas especially with the on-going crisis in Venezuela. This particular book was required reading for my under graduate program in the area of international affairs. Any scholar worth their weight in gold should make this "must read."

Book: I got the book and CDs to listen to in my car. The author, a long time resident of the region, research this subject well and present a good history of the economic and political development of Latin America since the early 1800's. The book stops at 2008 so it does not have the recent events with Hugo Chavez. It would be interesting to see the second edition. Overall, it is a good primer for persons with a new interest in the region.CD: Well produced with an excellent bilingual reader.

I enjoyed how Michael showed the challenges that South American countries face and how it was important to the U.S. until the end of the Cold War and than became the "Forgotten Continent".

I love this book, especially for anyone who is looking to learn more about economics and with a background knowledge of latin history.

I believe the book was a great overview of the entire.continent. Where it lacked for me was in the area of the us Mexico border, I felt it could have expanded this issue a little.more. Great read prior to.any trip down south.

It is very sad that we in Latin America have to learn more about the history and current affairs of our continent from foreign writers. Our own literature is full on panegirists of the left that even confronted with the sham that is Cuba and its totalitarian regime that has failed in providing a better life for its masses still try to sell us the idea that revolution and marxism is the way to go for our development. Living in Ecuador, currently under the XXI Century Socialist regime of Correa and having everyday to hear his endless tirades and propaganda and knowing that most of what he sells is untrue and that populism is probably the main cause of our backwardness this book was very refreshing to me.You have to look at the good examples such as Chile and even Colombia or Peru are currently developing their nations based on a democratic and open market model of development. We are capable people in this continent, we are passionate and hard workers and with a capable state apparatus we can achieve a good life and development but we are also gullible and still expect a miracle from an iluminated leader that magically transforms our societies and can achieve development with social equity but without sacrifices. This explains how Chavez, Correa, Morales, Ortega, the Kirchner couple have achieved power through their badly executed and corrupt social investment and redistribution schemes and that is why potentially rich countries such as Venezuela and Argentina are declining instead of moving forward.I hope every educated person in Latin America have the opportunity of reading this book so at least they can glimpse the truth from other perspective. For me it was an eye oppener and I live this reality every day.

This book has a lot of interesting informaiton about the sad situation in the economies of Latin America for a number of decades in the past with a message of some encourgement for the situation in more recent years. This book came out some years ago so it is not really all that current.

Dr. Kurtz has been researching ultra-high molecular weight polyehtylene(UHMWPE) for use in orthopedics for over 10 years. He has published dozens of papers and several book chapters related to UHMWPE used in joint replacement. He has pioneered the development of new test methods for the material in orthopedics. Dr. Kurtz has authored national and international standards for medical upgrade UHMWPE.As a principle engineer at Exponent, an international engineering and scientific consulting company, his research on UHMWPE is supported by several major orthopedic manufacturers. He has funding from the National Institutes for Health to stdy UHMWPE changes after implanatation in the body, as well as to develop new computer-based tools to predict the performance of new UHMWPE materials.Dr. Kurtz is the Director of an orthopedic implant retrieval program in Philadelphia which is affiliated with Drexel University and Thomas Jefferson University. He teaches classes on the performance of orthopedic polymers (including UHMWPE) at Drexel, Temple, and Princeton Universities.

Ive been reading her story from book one and i can relate to alot of what she been through. I myself am an addict who is now clean since 2011. This book tells you how fast yoyr life can spiral out of control. But also makes me realize why i never want to go back to that type of life style. I cant wait for book 6

I read this installment in 2 days. I just can't believe it. I'm so hooked and I can't wait for book 6.Highly recommend reading this now before it becomes a movie or hit TV show.

This was probably the most frustrating one. I kept thinking she hit bottom, but alas she had some more bad choices to make. Being the freak animal lover I am, I found myself worried about Corky all the time. I hope book 6 tells us how long Corky lived and if he finished his life in a good home.

I am so hooked on this series. It took me 2 days to finish this one. I can't wait for book 6 to come out. I highly recommend reading the whole series. Susan Segovia-Munoz tells her story in such a way that you feel like you are there. Awesome author!!

Well She really did it. Now look what happen. She seems like she like to be high more than try to have a peaceful life. It not good now for her.

It's a good story but the more you read the less you feel sorry for her. Good look into a drug addicts life but there's no emotion in how she tells the story. She tells everything in a kind of list mode. Also could use a little bit of editing.
