An overly long, poorly organized, rambling book with an important and potentially life changing message: the habit of periodic fasting combined with eating a healthy diet is indispensable to living a vibrant, joyful and disease-free life.The author recommends 24-36hr distilled water fasts every week and longer fasts such as 7-10 days every three months or so. The author also recommends eating a diet comprised primarily of organic fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts and seeds to help keep the body clean and properly fueled.I personally love the idea of 24-36hr water fasts each week.(Ive practiced this off and on for 5 years) Its a great way to regularly give the body a much deserved rest and detox.As I mentioned earlier, because of its structure, this book can be hard to get through at times but the core message and practical application tips make it a great resource. I'm a believer of fasting for cleansing so I decided to buy this book. Reading this book I found out facts about certain foods that human should not be consuming! I've giving up on those products for healthier food choices. I faithfully have been fasting one day a week and in doing so I have, thus far, lost 35 pounds! One more benefit has been that I no longer suffer from acid reflux.

Fantastic book, this addition to my Health library had given me s better understanding as to "WHY" one fasts. The process is very simple and includes what to expect your body to go through during the fast; this was Not taught to me during prior fast. A fast is also a Spiritual cleanse, no one needs to know; it's for your personal benefit and growth. I appreciate the books from Dr Paul Bragg, everyone should read this book; along with my ACV cocktail (3x's daily), I've lost 20 pounds in less than 6 months.

A truly amazing book. If you want to start getting your health in order, then you really need to read this book!Although, one thing I do recommend, if you are completely new to water fasting, is to start by juice fasting, then work your way to water fasting, of which this book is the Holy Grail of.If you feel bloated, lethargic, have mouth hunger all the time (vs real hunger - you are full yet your mouth is telling you to eat), basically if you don't feel right healthwise, trust me, you MUST read this book. This book is about much more than fasting, although that is the meat and potatoes of the book. This book talks about how to aquire proper posture—and maintain it! Instructions on the absolute necessity of breathing deeply throughout ones day, the absolute necessity of daily exercise and walking, how to properly relax - clear you mind/spirit, how to get to sleep (the positions and the light moderate eating well before bed), and a wealth more things on health.An interesting format of the book, which I at first found a bit annoying, is that there are motivational quotes, by renowned men and women, on every page...but after reading a few pages, with the wise sayings, it truly becomes very, and I mean VERY uplifting and very positive - which is a ray of sunshine amongst the prevalent negativity and despondency present today. You actually feel good, and when you feel good everything you do tends to gel.Book also teaches you that along with fasing, healthy eating is the other foundational block to good health. The Braggs do attack salt, the white refined stuff, but since I use the full-spectrum Himalayan salt, I don't see a problem, only more good health.Trust me, get the book...fasting also teaches you about your body. I can now tell when I'm full, or genuinely hungry, or if its the false mouth hunger, which dissipates with self control, which I didn't have till I actually started fasting, maintaining it needs to be worked on.If you want your health to improve get the book!!!

Braggs was ahead of his time. Very informative book.

Good fasting material, but I suspect Patricia has greatly edited the diet sections to reflect her vegan status. Also, what’s up with calling your mistress your daughter? Weird.
